BIRKAPILI HEPP
On November 24, 2000, ERE Hydroelectric Co. (previously ERE Autoproducer Co.) and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources signed the Autoproducer contract for Birkapili HEPP
Upon enactment of Energy Market Law No:4628, it is decided to establish the project under free electricity market conditions and a Generation Licence for 40 years was issued by EMRA on June 5th, 2003.
Upon completion of works, Preliminary Acceptance is signed on March 11th 2004 and Commercial Operation commenced.
The project, located in Icel Province in southern Turkiye, is expected to generate 177.6 GWh of electricity annually, with an installed power of 48.5 MW
Birkapili HEPP’s 1,010m Nominal Head is the highest in Turkey and also among world rankings.

First of the two primary schools being built by ERE in the project site, ERE – Dagpazari Primary School opened with the ceremony held on September 22nd, 2003. Our second school, ERE – Yapinti Primary School is also completed and opened for education on 2004-2005 semester.

Works of ‘Sogutozu & Dagpazari Regulators and Birkapili HEPP’ which had commenced on October-2001 were completed on March-2004 and plant had started commercial opertion, following the Preliminary Acceptance on March 11th, 2004.
Opening Ceremony of the plant is held on April 30th, 2004, with the kind participations of Minister of Energy Dr. Hilmi GULER, Energy Market Regulatory Authority Chairman Mr. Yusuf GUNAY and Mr. Korkut OZAL alongwith a strong interest from protocol, local public and guests.
